Negotiations between the heads of the Republic of Korea and Turkmenistan took place in Ashgabat

On June 10, as part of the two-day state visit of the head of the Republic of Korea to Turkmenistan, high-level negotiations were held between Presidents Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Yun Seok Yeol.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on a number of topical issues of regional and international politics of mutual interest.
Then the negotiations continued in an expanded format – with the participation of members of the official delegations of the two countries.
At the end of the negotiations in an expanded format, a signing ceremony of bilateral documents took place, TDH reports.
Signed in the presence of heads of state:
– Agreement on cooperation between the State Concern “Turkmenchemistry” (Turkmenistan) and the company “Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd” (Republic of Korea) on the implementation of the necessary measures and work for the successful commissioning and stable operation of the polymer plant in Kiyanly;
– Framework agreement on cooperation between the State Concern “Turkmengas” (Turkmenistan) and the company “Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd” (Republic of Korea) for the design, subject to the condition of “construction with full readiness,” of commercial gas treatment facilities with a production capacity of 10 billion cubic meters and wells, acquisition and construction project at stage IV of the Galkynysh gas field;
– Memorandum of Understanding between the Emergency Ambulance Center of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan and Chilgok Hospital at Kyungpook University of the Republic of Korea;
– Memorandum of Understanding between the Scientific and Clinical Center for Oncology of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan and Chilgok Hospital at Kyungpook University of the Republic of Korea;
– Memorandum of Understanding between the Hyakimlik of the city of Ashgabat and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of the Republic of Korea regarding cooperation in the field of energy infrastructure and the development of new cities;
– Memorandum of Understanding between the Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Export-Import Bank of Korea and the Korea Trade Insurance Corporation;
– Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the Republic of Korea on assistance in the activities of the joint cooperation commission;
– Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the Republic of Korea on the creation of a framework for promoting trade and investment.
To the applause of those present, Presidents Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Yoon Seok Yeol signed the Joint Statement following the state visit to Turkmenistan of the President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Seok Yeol.
At the end of the document signing ceremony, the heads of the two states addressed representatives of the media.
Commenting on the results of the summit meeting, the President of Turkmenistan expressed sincere gratitude to the President and the entire delegation of the Republic of Korea for the constructive negotiations, which took place in an atmosphere of openness, mutual understanding and trust.
At the end of the negotiations, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Korea Yun Seok-yeol took part in a solemn ceremony of laying flowers at the foot of the Independence Monument and planted trees on the Alley of Honored Guests in Ashgabat.
The trees planted by the heads of state will become another symbol of inviolability, friendship and good neighborliness between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea.
The current state visit of the President of the Republic of Korea to Turkmenistan is intended to become an important milestone in the history of the centuries-old brotherhood of the two peoples, based on strong ties of friendship, good neighborliness, trust and mutual support, the source notes.
