Issues of deepening cooperation between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan in the fuel and energy and other priority sectors were discussed

Issues of deepening cooperation in priority areas of the economy: fuel and energy, transport and industrial sectors were considered during political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, which took place in Astana, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.

 The Turkmen side was headed by Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of our country Rashid Meredov, the Kazakh side was headed by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Murat Nurtleu.

 The parties noted that Turkmen-Kazakh relations are characterized by increasing dynamics.  Focusing on the key role of contacts at the highest level, the parties agreed that these meetings are the main factor in strengthening bilateral cooperation with a long-term perspective.

 The positive experience of interaction between the two countries within the framework of international and regional structures, in particular the UN, OIC, ECO, CIS, as well as in the “CA+” formats, was stated. 

 A high level of interaction within international structures was noted.  Diplomats voiced the parties' mutual readiness to continue building up multilateral cooperation.

 The parties also reviewed the current state and prospects for cooperation in the trade and economic sphere, where there is solid potential for joint work.  The importance of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Kazakh Commission on Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation, on whose platform projects aimed at expanding bilateral relations are being implemented, was noted.
