President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov meets with the heads of delegations of the CIS countries

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held meetings with the heads of delegations who had arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS member countries on May 24. The head of the Turkmen state discussed with them issues of interaction, the current state of bilateral cooperation and current areas of partnerships for the near future.
At the meeting of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov with the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin, the growth of the bilateral trade and economic cooperation was noted, in particular, in the first quarter of 2024 it grew by 22%. It was stated that the relations between the countries, being strategic and multifaceted, were developing successfully in all areas, including the fuel and energy sector, shipbuilding, agriculture, the textile industry, transport and many other spheres.
A vivid example of productive bilateral relations are the established direct contacts between Turkmenistan and the largest constituent entities of the Russian Federation – the Republic of Tatarstan, the Astrakhan region, the city of St. Petersburg and other regions of the Russian Federation.
During the meeting of the Head of Turkmenistan with the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Japarov, the importance of strengthening trade and economic ties between the two countries and developing transport transit and importing electricity was noted. The parties noted the significant untapped trade, economic and investment potential of the Kyrgyz-Turkmen relations.
Akylbek Japarov noted that President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov were expected to visit Kyrgyzstan.
At a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov, issues of cooperation in the gas sector and the implementation of joint Kazakh-Turkmen projects in the field of agriculture were discussed, and trade and economic relations were assessed. The trade turnover between the two countries increased by 28% last year.
During a meeting with the President of Turkmenistan, the Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko emphasized the presence of a number of areas in which effective interaction was of mutual interest. These are, first of all, the agricultural, industrial, construction and transport spheres. During the conversation, an agreement was reached to hold the next meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation in the very near future.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also exchanged views with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzoda on a wide range of issues of the bilateral cooperation in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian fields. The parties spoke in favor of further building up trade and economic ties and maintaining the positive dynamics of steady growth. In this regard, the special role of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation was emphasized.
At the meeting of the President of Turkmenistan with the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov, the high level of the bilateral relations between the two states was stated. In this regard, the positive dynamics of the bilateral trade turnover and the expansion of cooperation in the fuel and energy, transport and logistics, and agricultural sectors were emphasized.
