President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov sent their condolences to the leadership of the Islamic Republic of Iran in connection with the death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi as a result of a helicopter accident in the East Azerbaijan province of Iran. TDH reports this today, May 20.

As Iranian media wrote, on May 19, the President of Iran and several other people were returning on several helicopters from Azerbaijan, where the leaders of the two countries participated in the opening ceremony of a hydroelectric complex on the Iran-Azerbaijan border.  Early this morning, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan published a message that Turkmenistan is ready to provide assistance in connection with the helicopter crash in Iran.

“Turkmenistan received with deep concern the news of a helicopter accident in Iran, on board of which were the President of the country Ebrahim Raisi and other high-ranking officials,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
