Registration has begun for the International Scientific Conference "Energy Perspectives, New Technologies and Ecological Aspects of Hydrocarbon Field Development" (TESC 2024), which will take place on June 5-6, 2024, in the city of Arkadag. This information is reported on the organizers' website.
The conference is organized by the State Concerns "Turkmengas" and "Turkmennebit", the State Corporation "Turkmengeology" in cooperation with Turkmen Forum and the British company GaffneyCline.
The main focus during the meeting will be on reducing emissions into the environment during hydrocarbon development and the energy transition.
The goal of the conference is to strengthen international cooperation between Turkmen state organizations and major energy companies, international organizations, academic communities, and financial institutions, all oriented towards environmental protection and a green future.
Turkmenistan pays special attention to environmental issues and, in particular, to reducing methane and associated gas emissions during the development of oil and gas fields.
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that: "Turkmenistan plans to achieve zero growth in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, and in the long term to significantly reduce emissions annually, both through its own financial resources and with technical and financial support from international organizations".
The upcoming conference will feature high-ranking representatives of the government of Turkmenistan, leaders of national and international oil and gas companies, top management of energy organizations, as well as major international institutes and research centers.
Key topics for discussion include:
• Energy prospects, new technologies, and ecological aspects of hydrocarbon field development;
• New technologies and energy transition: looking into the future;
• Reducing methane and carbon dioxide emissions during hydrocarbon extraction and monetization;
• New opportunities for environmental financing and initiatives in promoting clean energy.
An impressive list of delegates includes representatives from well-known international companies such as CNPC, BP, ExxonMobil, Petronas, ADNOC, Mitro International, Buried Hill, NAPECO, Dragon Oil, ENI, Lukoil; international oil and gas organizations such as the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), Global Gas Center, Gas Exporting Countries Forum, Society of Petroleum Engineers, Energy Charter Secretariat.
Representatives of numerous international organizations and financial institutions – the UN, OSCE, World Bank, Asian Development Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and diplomatic missions accredited in Turkmenistan – will participate in the conference sessions and panel discussions.
