Increasing the pace of implementation of joint energy projects was given special attention at the meeting on April 16 of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov with the new Ambassador of Pakistan to Turkmenistan Ahsan Vahan, who presented his credentials to the head of state, TDH reports.

A separate topic of the meeting was the discussion of the possibilities of increasing the pace of construction of the transnational gas pipeline Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI), as well as laying power lines and fiber-optic communications along the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP) route, the news agency writes.

As Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted, the implementation of these large-scale projects will give a powerful impetus to the socio-economic development of the region.

Ahsan Vahan, emphasizing the great importance Pakistan attaches to cooperation with Turkmenistan, expressed deep interest in the further progressive development of bilateral cooperation that meets common goals and interests.

During the meeting, it was noted that Turkmen-Pakistani relations, based on the principles of mutual respect, mutual understanding and trust, are successfully developing, acquiring new concrete content.

There was also a thorough exchange of views on a wide range of issues of long-term cooperation in various sectors of the economy, primarily in the fuel and energy sector, transport and communications.

Particular emphasis was placed on trade and economic ties that have great prospects, taking into account the increased mutual interest and complementarity of the national economies of the two countries, which have impressive potential.

At the same time, the diplomat emphasized that Pakistan supports the creative, progressive foreign and domestic policies of the Turkmen state, as well as the important international initiatives put forward by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to create transcontinental energy and transport corridors, which are successfully implemented with the support of the world community.
