Oil and Gas University in Turkmenistan named after Yagshigeldi Kakaeva

 The International University of Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan was named after Yagshigeldi Kakaev, a statesman who oversaw the oil and gas complex of our country.  The corresponding resolution was adopted by the Mejlis of Turkmenistan on behalf of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

 As noted in the resolution, this decision was made for the special merits of Yagshigeldi Kakayev to the state and society, his contribution to increasing the economic power and authority of Turkmenistan, the large-scale development of the country's oil and gas complex and integration into the international industry system, in the introduction of scientific achievements and advanced technologies, a long-term selfless  and honest work.

 Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov announced the proposal to nominate Yagshigeldi Kakaev's name to the higher oil and gas school of our country at an expanded government meeting on February 12.

 As the leader of the nation emphasized, Yagshigeldi Kakaev was a prominent statesman and public figure of our country, a person with vast experience, a mentor.  He made a huge contribution to the formation of a modern system of the oil and gas industry, including the creation and development of the International University of Oil and Gas.

 It should be noted that in various years Y. Kakaev worked in the Ministry of Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources of Turkmenistan, was the chairman of the State Concern «Turkmengas», director of the State Agency for Management and Use of Hydrocarbon Resources under the President of Turkmenistan, served as Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, and advisor to the President of Turkmenistan on oil and gas issues.

 Over the years of professional activity, candidate of technical sciences Y. Kakaev wrote about 80 scientific and technical works and technological reports, received 7 patents for scientific inventions. He was awarded a number of government awards.

 Yagshigeldi Kakaev died in 2020 at the age of 61.
