The head of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan discussed the priorities of interstate partnership with the new Ambassador of France

The need to organize Turkmen-French contacts at the highest level was noted at the meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov with the new Ambassador of France to Turkmenistan, Mrs. Isabelle Guinel, the website of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan reports.

Having discussed issues on strengthening friendly relations and expanding bilateral political, economic and cultural cooperation, the parties noted the need to organize contacts at the highest level, both in the format of bilateral visits and within the framework of participation in multilateral platforms. In this context, the possibility of organizing regular foreign policy contacts within the framework of the Cooperation Program between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs for 2019-2021 was discussed.

Concerning trade and economic partnership, the parties exchanged views on such promising areas as energy, digitalization, communications, construction, civil aviation, healthcare, agriculture, etc.

The parties also discussed the possibility of creating a Turkmen-French Council for cooperation in the field of culture, education and science.

During the meeting, Isabelle Guinel presented copies of her credentials to the Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan.
