President Serdar Berdimuhamedov visited Uzbekistan to participate in the SCO summit

 On the morning of September 15, the President of Turkmenistan arrived in Uzbekistan to attend the regular meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), which will be held on September 15-16 in Samarkand.

 According to the press service of the Uzbek leader, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov and other officials met the President of Turkmenistan at the airport.

 According to the program, today the President of Turkmenistan will visit the Khazret Khyzr complex, and will also take part in the commemoration ceremony for the first President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov.

 Many bilateral talks are also scheduled for September 15.  In the evening, informal events of the SCO summit will begin, Sherzod Asadov, press secretary of the President of Uzbekistan, said at a briefing in Samarkand.

 The main event – the SCO summit – will be held on September 16 under the chairmanship of Shavkat Mirziyoyev in the congress hall of the new tourist center of Samarkand «The Great Silk Road».

 At the Samarkand summit, topical issues of further building up multilateral cooperation, practical aspects and priority tasks for the development of the SCO will be considered.  An exchange of views on international and regional issues will take place.  As a result of the meeting, it is planned to adopt a solid package of documents to expand the activities of the Shas and deepen regional cooperation in priority areas.

General director of the branch of the National Petroleum Corporation of China (CNPC) Chen Huailong stated this, the Watan news program of the Turkmen television reported.
