The President of Turkmenistan discussed with the Minister of Energy of the UAE the priorities of cooperation in the field of energy

On Wednesday, Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov discussed cooperation in the energy sector, which is a strategic sector of the economies of both countries, with UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suheil Al-Mazrui.
During the meeting, Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Turkmenistan is focused on attracting innovations, digital technologies and advanced developments in the field of production and processing of hydrocarbon raw materials, the formation of a modern specialized infrastructure to the energy industry. In this context, cooperation in the field of "green" energy, the practical use of environmentally friendly renewable energy sources, in particular, the sun and wind, is seen as relevant.
The guest confirmed the desire of the UAE business circles for a long-term partnership with Turkmenistan and participation in new promising projects in the energy sector.
During the meeting, the minister conveyed to the President of Turkmenistan an invitation from the head of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to pay a visit to the Emirates.
It is worth noting that in October 2021, Turkmenistan and the UAE signed a number of agreements and memorandums, including in the field of investment and energy, among them a Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of a joint investment company between the State Electricity Corporation "Turkmenenergo" and Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC - Masdar.
