 Deposits of drinking water with a total area of ​​130.8 square kilometers were discovered as a result of work carried out by specialists of the State Corporation «Turkmengeology» in Lebap region. This was reported by Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Shahym Abdrakhmanov at a government meeting last Friday.

 Water deposits are located on the site of Turkmenabat, located on the left bank of the Amu Darya, on the banks of the Boyrabap and Berzen drainage systems and are registered as an underground deposit «Turkmenabat».

 As reported, the volume of reserves of this field will allow uninterrupted supply of clean drinking water to the local population.

 After listening to the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that today water diplomacy opens up opportunities for a systematic dialogue on issues related to the formation and restoration of water resources, their reasonable and rational consumption.  In this regard, the head of state addressed the Vice-Chairman with relevant instructions.
