Official visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Iran begins

On Tuesday, June 14, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov left for an official visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran. The official meeting of the head of Turkmenistan with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyed Ebrahim Raisi will take place today, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
As expected, during the talks at the top, the parties' approaches to further cooperation, which has been successfully developing in recent years both in bilateral and multilateral formats, will be specified.
The fact that Iran has become one of the first countries that Serdar Berdimuhamedov visits as the President of Turkmenistan indicates that the establishment of full-scale cooperation with neighboring states remains a priority of the foreign policy strategy of our state, TDH notes.
Today, Turkmenistan and Iran demonstrate their desire to bring political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties to a qualitatively new level that meets the priorities of socio-economic development and the national interests of each of the parties.
As a result of the talks, it is planned to sign a package of documents designed to regulate partnership in a whole range of priority areas.
The day before, bilateral meetings of the governmental delegation of Turkmenistan with the heads of relevant ministries and departments of Iran took place.
As Iranian media reported, on Tuesday a meeting was held between the foreign ministers of the two states – Rashid Meredov and Hossein Amir Abdollahian.
