In Tashkent, leaders of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan discuss prospects for bilateral cooperation

On Monday, October 4, the two-day official visit of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Uzbekistan began. At the airport of the Uzbek capital, the Turkmen leader was greeted by the President of the Republic Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as well as members of the government delegation of Turkmenistan.
Turkmen-Uzbek summit talks will take place today at the state residence Kuksaroy. As expected, the meeting of the leaders of the two countries will concretize the prospects for further expansion of mutually beneficial partnership. As a result of the negotiations, it is planned to sign more than 20 joint documents.
On Monday, within the framework of the visit, a Turkmen-Uzbek economic forum was held, in which representatives of state and private structures of the two states took part. The meeting participants discussed issues of investing in industry, energy, agriculture and transport in the neighboring states.
During the forum, bilateral meetings of representatives of the delegations of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan were also held, during which specific investment projects and areas of bilateral cooperation in the economic sphere were discussed.
As a result of the forum, 13 bilateral documents were signed, including for the implementation of export-import operations for a total amount of about US $ 13.5 million.
