Erdogan proposed to postpone the summit of the heads of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Turkey to a later date

 President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in a telephone conversation on Thursday with the head of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov proposed to postpone the summit of the heads of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Turkey scheduled for August to a later date.

 The Turkish leader explained this decision by the dramatic circumstances caused by massive forest fires in Turkey, which caused human losses and suffering, economic damage.

 Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov accepted the proposal with understanding and expressed sympathy to his colleague and the entire fraternal people of Turkey, send words of support to the people who lost their loved ones and the victims.

 The Presidents of Turkmenistan and Turkey reaffirmed their commitment to expanding the interstate dialogue, exchanged views on its prospects, as well as on the main issues of the international and regional agenda.

 The meeting of the leaders of the three countries, scheduled for August, was discussed in July during telephone talks between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.  At the same time, the ministers paid attention to the preparation of the visit of the President of Turkey to Turkmenistan.

 Within the framework of the summit of the heads of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Turkey, it is planned to sign a number of agreements aimed at further developing economic partnership.
