At the enlarged meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, which President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired last Friday, the results of the development of the sectors of the national economic complex for January-June of this year were summed up.

Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Shakhym Abdrakhmanov reported on the results of the work of the supervised industries for half a year.

It was reported about the technical and economic indicators achieved in the field of oil and gas condensate production, as well as oil refining.  The plan for the production of gasoline was fulfilled by 119.4 percent, diesel fuel – by 100.8 percent, polypropylene – by 130.1 percent, liquefied gas – by 114.9 percent, investment development – 115 percent.  Compared to the corresponding period of last year, the growth in production of natural and associated gas amounted to 123.4 percent, export of «blue fuel» - by 137.2 percent.

Having addressed the Vice-Chairman, the President of Turkmenistan noted that over the six months of the year, compared to the same period last year, the State Concern «Turkmengas» decreased the production of polyethylene and polypropylene, and the State Concern «Turkmennebit» – oil production.  At the Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries, the volume of production of some petroleum products had decreased.

In this regard, the head of the state ordered to keep under strict control the construction of a delayed coking and tar deasphalting unit at the TCOR, as well as to take the necessary measures to increase the production of crude oil and gas condensate through the use of modern technologies and methods.

As Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov pointed out, it was necessary to carry out repairs of oil wells in a timely manner, to ensure uninterrupted delivery of commercial oil to refineries.  In order to regulate natural gas production and increase the reliability of providing consumers with this product, it was necessary to actively approach the issue of building underground gas storage facilities.

Improving the efficiency of geological exploration and drilling operations carried out by the State Corporation «Turkmengeology» was also identified as a priority task.  The President instructed, using innovative technologies, to intensify geological exploration work carried out in the promising coastal zones of the Caspian Sea, to carry out the necessary work to develop new discovered deposits.

Emphasizing that large oil and gas companies and investors should be involved in this activity, including in the field of effective implementation of modern technologies, the head of the state ordered to submit relevant proposals within two months.
