During a government meeting held by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov last Friday, Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Shakhym Abdrakhmanov reported on seismic exploration work carried out by the State Corporation «Turkmengeology» in order to search for new oil deposits.
As reported, at present, the extraction of "black gold" is mainly carried out at the deposits of the Balkan zone of western Turkmenistan. Turkmengeology plans to conduct additional seismic studies in this oil and gas region, including in the eastern part of the Goturdepe field using the 3D method, as well as at the South Burun site using the 2D method.
To carry out these works, an international tender was held, as a result of which the winner was selected.
