Within the framework of the working visit of the delegation of Turkmenistan to Moscow, meetings were held with the heads of state structures and large companies of the Russian Federation.

In particular, a meeting was held with the management of the oil company Lukoil, during which the prospects for mutually beneficial partnership were considered.  In particular, they discussed the possibility of the company's participation in the project for the development of the Dostluk field in the Caspian Sea and in the project for the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline.

Note that the Memorandum of Understanding on joint exploration, development and development of the Dostluk field was signed on January 21, 2021 during the visit of Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov to Ashgabat.

The Azerbaijani parliament ratified this memorandum in February this year.  The Mejlis of Turkmenistan ratified this Memorandum in March this year.

In February 2021, the head of the Russian company Lukoil, Vagit Alekperov, at a meeting with the President of Turkmenistan, announced his intention to participate in the implementation of the project for the exploration, development and development of the Dostluk field, the reserves of which are estimated by experts at 50 million tons of oil.
