Ukrainian OKKO intends to import oil products from Turkmenistan

The OKKO business group (Ukraine) plans to expand the automotive fuel market, including through the purchase of oil products from Turkmenistan, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
In early 2021, OKKO acquired the Kherson oil transshipment complex and is going to invest $3 million for its modernization.
The company representatives said that the new acquisition would provide an opportunity to strengthen the company's logistics base to improve the efficiency and mobility of shipments of petroleum products to its petrol stations in the southern and eastern regions of the state.
In addition, this is a significant stage in ensuring the diversification of suppliers of petroleum products.
Vice-President of OKKO Yu.Kuchabskiy mentioned that the acquisition of the port complex opened up a wide fuel market: under favorable conditions OKKO would be able to increase the volume of imported oil products from Turkmenistan, Turkey, Greece, Bulgaria. In this vein, the figure was named at 150-200 thousand tons per year.
At the moment, JSC «Concern Galnaftogaz» (OKKO group) operates about 440 filling stations. Kherson oil transshipment complex includes a harbor for unloading oil tankers and storage of fuel, an oil depot with access to railways, and a network of oil products pipeline.

Employees of the «Nebitgazchykarysh» trust of the State Concern «Turkmennebit», thanks to the effective overhaul of wells and their commissioning, make a significant contribution to the increase in oil and gas production. As a result of these works for seven months of the year under the motto «Turkmenistan – Homeland of Peace and Trust», the volume of additional oil produced by the concern amounted to about 120 thousand tons, instead of the planned 96 thousand 585 tons.
