President of Turkmenistan addresses participants of the International oil and gas forum

“I congratulate you on opening of the XXV International Conference “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan”. I wish success to the forum, the main goal of which is to popularize the achievements of the national oil and gas industry in the world!” emphasized President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, addressing the participants of the forum.

According to the President of Turkmenistan, the energy strategy of Turkmenistan, which possesses tremendous hydrocarbon resources, is aimed at offering impetus to the development of the fuel and energy sector and its integration into the global energy system, as vividly testified by effective measures taken to form an extensive network of gas pipelines and diversify the supply of Turkmen energy to foreign markets.

“Today, our state ranks among the exporters of ‘blue fuel’ to the countries of Europe, Central and Southeast Asia. The Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline project, strategically important for our country and the region, has increased the interest of the participating states in it. The construction and commissioning of this energy route will not only allow supplying significant volumes of Turkmen natural gas to the external market, but will also contribute to enhancing stability and peace in the region, becoming a key factor in strengthening economic partnership.

“Developing traditional fruitful cooperation in the energy sector, our country builds up cooperation in this area in the areas of Eurasia, the Far East, the Southeast, and enhances partnerships with leading oil and gas companies and authoritative financial institutions of the world.

“Turkmenistan has taken major efforts to increase the volume of oil and gas production and processing, as well as produces goods of the most demanded on world markets. The state takes large-scale measures with the aim to develop oil and gas fields.

“Today, our country is not limited only to the production or supply of energy resources to foreign countries, the volumes of exports to world markets of oil and gas chemical products increase with every passing year.

“In the period of growing energy consumption all over the world, many states express interest in cooperation with Turkmenistan in the energy sector, which clearly proves the increase in the international authority of our country.

“I believe that the current international conference will be of great importance in the exchange of experience between Turkmen specialists and foreign partners, and in building up cooperation”, says the President of Turkmenistan in his Address.

In conclusion, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov wished the forum participants good health, longevity, prosperous life and success in their work.
