Participants of the transport conference in Turkmenbashi determined

Delegations from more than 30 states and heads of more than 30 international and specialized organizations confirmed their participation in the forthcoming Transport Conference of Landlocked Developing Countries in the city of Turkmenbashi on August 15-16, which is convened on the initiative of Turkmenistan under the auspices of the UN. This is reported by the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
Among the participants are representatives of the UN, OSCE, ECO, World Customs Organization, International Road Transport Union, International Telecommunication Union, TRACECA and others, a number of banks and financial institutions.
As noted, Turkmenistan is one of the initiators of the global dialogue on transport issues at the UN level. In 2016, the First Global Conference on Sustainable Transport was held in the Turkmen capital. Turkmenistan also initiated UN General Assembly resolutions on sustainable transport and development of international cooperation in this area, adopted by consensus in 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2021.
“The forthcoming forum in the city of Turkmenbashi is one of the key stages in the preparation of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, scheduled for 2024,” the Foreign Ministry said.
It is expected that the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov will address the participants of the forum in Turkmenbashi.
