Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Shakhym Abdrakhmanov reported on the ongoing measures to develop the promising Uzynada area in the Balkan region and expand its borders at a government meeting last Wednesday.

As noted, in the western region of the country, the development of this field continues and measures are being taken to ensure proper material and technical support for drilling operations and well reconstruction.

Based on the geological exploration conducted by the State Corporation «Turkmengeology», the State Concern «Turkmennebit» started drilling a well with a depth of 7300 meters in the Uzynada area in order to expand its boundaries and effectively use the richest hydrocarbon resources.  This confirms the prospects for increasing the volume of oil produced at this field.

After listening to the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed that the relevant work carried out here would serve to realize the significant potential of the domestic oil and gas sector, which is designed to make a significant contribution to the socio-economic development of our country.

The head of state also focused on the importance of improving the industrial processing of the region's natural resources.  Noting the need to continue exploration work in this area, the President gave specific instructions to the Vice-Chairman.
