Turkmenistan remains the leader in pipeline gas supplies to China

Since the beginning of 2021, Turkmenistan remains the leader in pipeline gas supplies to the Chinese energy market, Interfax reports, citing data from the General Administration of Customs of the PRC.
In January 2021, China imported a total of 4.685 bcm of pipeline gas, up from 4.366 bcm in January 2020. Turkmenistan supplied 2.786 billion cubic meters, Russia – 916 million cubic meters, Myanmar – 357 million cubic meters, Kazakhstan – 319 million cubic meters and Uzbekistan – 307 million cubic meters.
Among the suppliers of pipeline gas to China in terms of the volume, Russia took the second place after Turkmenistan, surpassing Kazakhstan in December 2020, INTERFAX notes.
