Iran will attend the high-level International Forum to be held in Ashgabat on December 12. This was announced by Ali Mojtaba Rouzbehani, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Turkmenistan, as reported by the International Information Center of Turkmenistan on December 5.
The diplomat congratulated the leadership and people of Turkmenistan on the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's declaration of permanent neutrality. He noted that this anniversary symbolizes the country's commitment to peace, stability, and development.
The ambassador emphasized the importance of Turkmenistan's initiative, which led the UN to declare 2025 the International Year of Peace and Trust. The key event will be the International Forum on December 12, where Iran will participate at the highest level, reaffirming its support for Turkmenistan's neutral course.
The diplomat expressed confidence that the upcoming visit of the Iranian President to Turkmenistan will contribute to the further development of comprehensive relations between the two countries. According to the ambassador, Turkmenistan's policy of neutrality has become a significant factor in strengthening trust, dialogue, and security in the region.
"For Iran, as a close neighbor, Turkmenistan's neutral status is essential for ensuring border stability, energy cooperation, and the development of sustainable bilateral relations. Iran consistently supports this policy, viewing it as a strategic contribution to regional peace," the diplomat said.
