Vladimir Putin will attend the International Forum on Peace and Trust in Ashgabat

Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit Turkmenistan on December 12 to participate in events marking the 30th anniversary of the country's permanent neutrality. This was announced by Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov at a briefing, Interfax.ru reports.

"Our President is scheduled to attend the International Forum on Peace and Trust in Turkmenistan on December 12," Ushakov said. The presidential aide noted that the visit is taking place at the invitation of the Turkmen side.

As previously reported, Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on his birthday by telephone on October 7 and invited him to participate in the International Forum on Peace and Trust, which will take place on December 12 in Ashgabat.

Thanking for the invitation, Vladimir Putin emphasized the crucial role of Turkmenistan's neutrality policy in strengthening regional peace and prosperity.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that Russia is a strategic partner of Turkmenistan, and relations between our countries are based on the principles of equality, mutual respect, and good neighborliness.
