Foreign Ministers of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan Discuss Development of Economic Ties

Ways to diversify economic ties and increase mutual trade volumes were discussed at a meeting between Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported on its website on July 4 (https://www.mfa.gov.tm/ru/news/5380).
During the meeting, the parties noted with satisfaction the high level of political and diplomatic interaction. They reaffirmed their commitment to further deepening ties in all areas of mutual interest.
The ministers expressed confidence that regular high-level meetings and consistent implementation of the agreements reached will contribute to further deepening and expanding Turkmen-Azerbaijani relations.
The parties also discussed the state and prospects of cooperation in the energy sector.
The strategic role of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan as key hubs of regional and international transport corridors was emphasized.
The heads of the foreign policy departments also noted the importance of expanding contacts in the fields of culture, education, science and other social spheres.
