Turkmenistan's investment potential presented to Chinese companies

A business forum "International Year of Peace and Trust: Conference on Investment Promotion in Turkmenistan" was held in Beijing, organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the People's Republic of China jointly with the China Overseas Development Association, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of our country reports.

The goal of the forum was to reveal the investment potential of Turkmenistan for 40 Chinese companies-members of the Association.

During the meeting, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan P. Durdyev, the President of the Association He Zhenwei, as well as the Trade Representative of the Turkmen Embassy Sh. Batyrov spoke.

The President of the Association He Zhenwei, touching upon the history of bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and China in his welcoming speech, emphasized certain areas of economic cooperation. At the same time, the importance of the Turkmenistan-China energy bridge was emphasized. In his speech, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan focused on the political aspects and importance of the work being carried out to implement the medium-term until 2028 and long-term until 2052 socio-economic programs of Turkmenistan, aimed at improving the well-being of the people and strengthening the country's economic power. In this context, he called on representatives of the Chinese business community to actively cooperate with Turkmenistan.

Trade Representative of the Embassy of Turkmenistan Sh. Batyrov in his presentation outlined promising areas for attracting Chinese investment, such as the oil and gas chemical industry, the agro-industrial complex, transport and logistics, telecommunications and information technologies, and others.

At the end of the meeting, the parties discussed the possibility of holding a specialized Turkmen-Chinese business forum in Ashgabat in 2025.
