On Thursday, June 5, the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Environmental Aspects of Implementation of Innovative Technologies in the Development of Hydrocarbon Deposits" (TESC) will open in Ashgabat. The forum is organized by the State Concerns "Turkmengas", "Turkmennebit", the State Corporation "Turkmengeology" together with the "Turkmen Energy Forum".
According to the organizers, more than 400 delegates from 24 countries have registered to participate in the conference. The exchange of knowledge and experience at TESC 2025 will make an invaluable contribution to the development of environmentally responsible approaches to the development of hydrocarbon resources, emphasizing Turkmenistan's commitment to the principles of sustainable development and innovative progress.
TESC 2025 is even more important in light of the recent participation of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov in the First Central Asia - Italy Summit. At this international forum, the head of state not only confirmed Turkmenistan's strategic role as a reliable energy supplier, but also highlighted key areas, including projects to export Turkmen gas to Europe, the active development of hydrogen energy and the introduction of "green" technologies.
These progressive ideas and commitment to sustainable development will be the central themes of TESC 2025, emphasizing Turkmenistan's commitment to the global energy transformation.
The pre-conference day of the forum, June 4, was eventful and productive, laying a solid foundation for the main program of the conference. All events on this day are taking place within the walls of the Natural Gas Research Institute of the State Concern "Turkmengas", symbolizing the deep scientific and practical focus of the forum. On this day, the Institute organized accreditation of delegates.
The culmination of the pre-conference day was two important round tables designed to stimulate deep discussions and exchange of views on the most important issues facing the energy sector. The first roundtable, “Supporting Policy Development and National Capacity for the Transition to Green Energy in Turkmenistan,” was organized jointly with the UN Resident Coordinator, UNICEF, and UNDP in Turkmenistan. This strategically important session underscores our country’s commitment to achieving the global Sustainable Development Goals.
The roundtable discussions focused on developing effective strategies and mechanisms needed to promote green energy, increase environmental responsibility, and integrate innovative solutions into the national energy sector. This directly follows the forward-looking initiatives formulated by the President of Turkmenistan in the international arena.
The second roundtable, “Increasing Hydrocarbon Production in Brownfields with AI,” was organized by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). This session brought together leading global and national experts, including the SPE Regional Director for Russia and the Caspian, GaffneyCline Energy Advisory specialists, as well as experienced employees from the Turkmengas State Concern and young professionals from specialized universities.
This roundtable will focus on advanced artificial intelligence solutions that can improve production processes in mature fields, significantly increasing their efficiency, reducing operating costs and, most importantly, minimizing their environmental impact. This session will serve as a prime example of how innovation can be applied to the sustainable use of natural resources.
These roundtables are expected to generate new ideas and serve as a starting point for further, more in-depth discussions during the main day of TESC 2025, which promises innovative presentations and panel discussions on the hottest topics.
