Following the state visit of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Mongolia, a joint statement of the heads of the two states and 14 documents on expanding bilateral cooperation in trade and economic spheres, investments, education and healthcare were signed, TDH reports.

The signing ceremony was held in the presence of Presidents Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh.

The signed documents include intergovernmental agreements on the establishment of the Commission on Bilateral Cooperation; on economic cooperation; a medium-term Program for the development of cooperation in the field of trade, economy and investments for 2026-2028.

In addition, a Cooperation Program was signed between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Mongolia for 2026-2027.

Memorandums of understanding were also signed at the level of a number of ministries and departments of the two countries. They are aimed at developing cooperation in the fields of light industry, education, healthcare, scientific research, as well as museums, television and radio channels and information. The Ashgabat City Hall and the Ulaanbaatar City Hall signed a memorandum on establishing sister city relations between the capitals of the two countries.
