The International Scientific and Practical Conference focused on "Environmental aspects in the production of hydrocarbon resources” (TESC) will be held in Ashgabat on June 5. The organizers of the upcoming forum are the State Concerns "Turkmengas", "Turkmennebit", the State Corporation "Turkmengeology" together with the "Turkmen Energy Forum".

The purpose of the forum is to strengthen international cooperation between Turkmen government organizations and major energy companies, international organizations, academic communities and financial institutions focused on environmental protection and a green future.

Turkmenistan pays special attention to environmental issues and, in particular, to reducing methane and associated gas emissions during the development of oil and gas fields.

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov reported that: "Turkmenistan plans to achieve zero growth in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, and in the long term to significantly reduce emissions annually, both through its own financial resources and with the technical and financial support of international organizations. Turkmenistan advocates a consolidated approach to the problems of this plan, taking concrete steps for its part to protect the environment and striving to contribute to the development of international cooperation in such a vitally important area for all mankind." The upcoming conference will be attended by high-ranking representatives of the Government of Turkmenistan, heads of national and international oil and gas companies, senior management of energy organizations, as well as major international institutions and research centers.

The impressive list of delegates includes representatives of well-known international companies such as CNPC, BP, Exxon Mobil, Petronas, ADNOC, Mitro International, Buried Hill, NAPECO, Dragon Oil, ENI, Lukoil; international oil and gas organizations such as the International Energy Agency (IRENA), the Global Gas Center, the Gas Exporting Countries Forum, the Society of Petroleum Engineers, and the Energy Charter Secretariat.

The conference sessions and panel discussions will feature representatives from numerous international organizations and financial institutions – the UN, OSCE, the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and diplomatic missions accredited in Turkmenistan.

Participation in the conference and business meetings during the event will enhance delegates’ understanding of potential investment opportunities in renewable energy and diversification of the energy sector towards cleaner energy.

Presentations and panel sessions during the event will provide participants with information on the latest initiatives to reduce emissions and associated gas in the development of Turkmenistan’s vast energy resources.

The upcoming conference will serve as an excellent platform for establishing mutually beneficial cooperation.
