Iranian President confirms his participation in the International Forum in Ashgabat on December 12

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has confirmed his participation in the International Forum in Ashgabat on December 12. This was reported at a government meeting held digitally on May 23.

Speaking at the government meeting, Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov noted that a meeting with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian was held as part of the working visit of the delegation of Turkmenistan to the neighboring country.

During the meeting, the Iranian President confirmed his participation at the invitation of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Hero-Arkadag in the International Forum dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality, which will be held in Ashgabat on December 12 of this year.

Rashid Meredov also added that key issues of interstate relations, current aspects of the regional and global agenda were discussed at the meeting with Masoud Pezeshkian. In this regard, the need to continue joint work on strategic areas of bilateral partnership was noted. The head of Iran confirmed the readiness of the Iranian side to implement the planned events, projects and previously reached agreements.

As part of the working visit of the Turkmen delegation to the neighboring country, a meeting was also held with the Supreme Spiritual Leader of Iran Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei.

In addition, the delegation of Turkmenistan held meetings with the co-chair of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Iranian Commission on Economic Cooperation, Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran Ms. Farzaneh Sadeghi Malvajerd, Minister of Energy Abbas Aliabadi, Minister of Oil Mohsen Paknejad and Minister of Foreign Affairs Seyed Abbas Araghchi.

After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that Iran is a neighboring state with which Turkmenistan closely cooperates. The key role in implementing the agreements reached between the two countries is assigned to the joint Intergovernmental Turkmen-Iranian Commission on Economic Cooperation, the head of state said, instructing to continue work on developing relations with Iran and strengthening trade and economic partnership.
