President of Turkmenistan discusses prospects for cooperation in the oil and gas sector with heads of Petronas and ADNOC

On May 14, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held separate meetings with the heads of delegations of the Malaysian company Petronas and ADNOC from the United Arab Emirates.

As reported by TDH, at the meeting of the President of Turkmenistan with the head of Petronas Tan Sri Tengku Muhammad Tawfik, the main focus was on strengthening bilateral ties. Petronas expressed gratitude for the favorable investment climate in Turkmenistan. Cooperation between the two countries, based on mutual respect, extends to the economy, trade, energy sector and education.

As noted, Petronas has been operating in the hydrocarbon sector of Turkmenistan for almost thirty years, and makes a significant contribution to the production of hydrocarbons and the training of specialists. The parties especially noted the fuel and energy complex as a priority area for further cooperation, emphasizing Turkmenistan's readiness to consider new initiatives to deepen partnership ties.

The meeting between President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the UAE delegation was attended by Minister of Industry and CEO of ADNOC Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Energy Suhail Al Mazrouei and Minister of State Ahmed Al Sayegh.

During the dialogue, the strategic and friendly nature of relations based on mutual respect, as well as successes in the development of trade, economy and cultural exchange were noted.

The fuel and energy sector became the central point of discussion, with Turkmenistan expressing interest in expanding cooperation with ADNOC and other companies from the UAE.

During the meeting, recent projects in Turkmenistan financed by the UAE were noted. In this regard, the parties confirmed their commitment to deepening constructive bilateral relations.
