The grand opening of the new Jebel International Airport took place in the Balkan region

On May 2, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in the grand opening of the new Jebel International Airport in the Balkan region.

The airport was built by order of the «Turkmenhowayollary» agency by the private enterprise «Gundogdy» — constructor of complex transport facilities.The new air harbor is capable of servicing up to 100 passengers per hour.

The new airport complex in Jebel includes passenger and cargo terminals, a control tower, and rescue and fire service buildings. It is equipped with ground support facilities for flights to receive all types of aircraft.

Convenient location 20 km northwest of Balkanabat and only 4 km from the famous mud resort Mollakara will greatly facilitate access to the hospital for all those in need.

In close proximity to The Ashgabat-Turkmenbashi highway and railway pass through the new airport, and the construction of the Jebel railway station is planned in the future. The emergence of another modern international airport in the Balkan region will improve the air transport infrastructure in the western region of Turkmenistan and strengthen regional air traffic in Central Asia as a whole.
