Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov discussed priority areas of cooperation with the Federal President of Germany

On April 30, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a telephone conversation with the Federal President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier, TDH reports.
The interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the high level of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Germany. Steinmeier noted that relations between the two countries are developing on a systematic and long-term basis.
Hero-Arkadag said that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the development of cooperation with Germany, noting that the legal basis of relations consists of about 100 bilateral documents.
Speaking about the prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation, the interlocutors noted that mutual trade turnover is increasing from year to year. In this regard, the role of the Joint Turkmen-German Working Group, as well as the activities of the Eastern Committee of German Economy and the German-Turkmen Forum were particularly emphasized.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted the chemical industry, transport, agriculture, healthcare and textile industries as promising areas of economic cooperation, proposing to establish partnerships with German companies BASF, MAN, Deutsche Bahn and Thyssenkrupp, Siemens and Knauf.
The "green" economy, renewable energy sources, water management and innovative technologies were identified as new areas of cooperation.
Among other important areas, the banking sector was highlighted, where Turkmenistan cooperates with Deutsche Bank, Commerzbank, Deutsche Bundesbank.
Hero-Arkadag also noted that industrialization is proceeding at a rapid pace in Turkmenistan, emphasizing that Siemens turbines are used in the gas sector. The Head of the Halk Maslahaty also confirmed Turkmenistan's interest in cooperation with the German companies Thyssen Schachtbau GmbH and Schachtbau Nordhausen GmbH to establish the Garlyk mining complex for the production of potash fertilizers - the only one of its kind in the Central Asian region, as well as in using BASF's experience in the chemical industry.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also expressed hope for Steinmeier's participation in the international conference on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality, which is scheduled to be held in Ashgabat on December 12 at the level of heads of state, government and heads of international organizations.
During the conversation, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov invited the Federal President of Germany to visit Turkmenistan on an official visit at any convenient time.
