Turkmenistan is ready to offer Japanese businessmen all conditions for long-term investments and mutually beneficial partnership. This was stated by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on April 15 at a meeting with representatives of Japanese business structures in Tokyo.
"Here, energy, transport and logistics should be highlighted among the priorities. High-tech and environmentally friendly production, modernization of the water infrastructure system, and training of specialists are also of great importance", said the President, whose speech was published in the central media of Turkmenistan.
Based on long-term prospects, the head of state voiced a number of specific proposals for cooperation with Japanese business structures.
"We are ready to promote Japanese technologies and products to the market of Turkmenistan, especially in such areas as mechanical engineering, electronics and the chemical industry", Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted.
The President also noted that Turkmenistan is "interested in introducing advanced Japanese technologies in the field of water conservation, water purification, waste management, green and hydrogen energy".
The head of state proposed "to study the possibility of attracting small and medium-sized Japanese enterprises to do business in Turkmenistan and Turkmen enterprises in Japan".
"We are ready to discuss these proposals. We have all the prerequisites for confident planning of economic and business cooperation", the President said.
The head of state emphasized that "Today, 44 investment projects with the participation of Japanese companies have been registered in our country for a total amount exceeding 11 billion US dollars, about 256 million euros and almost 190 billion yen".

"Such corporations as Itochu Corporation, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Mitsubishi Corporation, Sojitz Corporation, Toyo Engineering, Mitsui, Sumitomo Corporation and others have made and continue to make a significant contribution to the development of the Turkmen economy," the President noted.
"In recent years, with the participation of Japanese companies, large industrial facilities have been commissioned in Turkmenistan - a gas chemical complex for the production of ammonia and urea in Garabogaz, a polymer plant in Kiyanly, a plant for the production of gasoline from natural gas in Ovadandepe and a gas turbine power plant in the Charjev etrap", Serdar Berdimuhamedov recalled.
The President also noted "the successful supply of Komatsu earthmoving equipment to Turkmenistan, as well as Toyota motor vehicles." The head of Turkmenistan also emphasized “the active support and assistance to this process from the Japanese government bodies, primarily the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) and the Japan Export and Investment Insurance Agency (NEXI)”.
