On April 15, high-level bilateral talks were held in Tokyo between the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Prime Minister of Japan Shigeru Ishiba, during which they discussed the possibilities of implementing new projects in the fuel and energy complex and chemistry, TDH reports.

As was emphasized, Japanese-Turkmen cooperation in recent years has reached a qualitatively new level and has been filled with specific practical content. In this context, Japan's readiness for further development and expansion of partnership in new areas was confirmed.

The head of Turkmenistan, noting the high level of bilateral relations, focused on its main areas. Among them is the expansion of trade and economic contacts.

Noting that a number of large projects with the participation of Japanese companies have already been implemented in Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov confirmed his readiness to continue active work in the implementation of new economic projects with Japanese partners. Among them were the construction of a second plant for the production of ammonia and urea, as well as a second plant for the production of gasoline from natural gas.

During the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan invited the Prime Minister of Japan to take part in the International Forum, which will be held on December 12 in Ashgabat on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality.

Before the start of the negotiations, it was announced that a Joint Press Release had been adopted and a Memorandum of Cooperation had been signed between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan on the implementation of energy transitions.
