Preparations for the Second Summit of Heads of State of the Central Asia-China Format, scheduled for 2025 in Astana, were discussed at a meeting on April 14 in Ashgabat between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Akhmed Gurbanov and Sun Weidong, appointed Secretary General of the Secretariat of the Central Asia-China Format, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.
During the meeting, the diplomats reviewed issues of successfully developing bilateral partnership, which is of a comprehensive strategic and long-term nature, noting the effective partnership in the trade and economic sphere, analyzed the progress of joint activities in the field of energy, transport and communications interconnectivity, and the cultural and humanitarian direction.
It was noted that favorable conditions for building up interstate relations create a high level of trust and friendship between the heads of the two states.
The diplomats also noted the effectiveness of the multilateral dialogue between Turkmenistan and China within the framework of international and regional structures. The effectiveness of the Central Asia – China format was emphasized.
