Turkmen-Iranian bilateral consultations on issues of the Caspian Sea were held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan Foreign Ministry said on April 9.

“From April 7 to 8 in Ashgabat, the Turkmen-Iranian bilateral consultations on the definition of the sea border line, the line of demarcation of fishing zones, as well as the delimitation of the sea border, the line of demarcation of fishing zones, as well as the delimitation of the sea border were held at the Institute of the Caspian Sea of Turkmenistan the Caspian Sea and related documents,” the Foreign Ministry said.

The Turkmen side was headed by the Director of the Institute of the Caspian Sea of Turkmenistan Myrat Atjanov, Iranian - Assistant to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the IRI for the Caspian Sea Alireza Jahangiri.

During the negotiations, issues of bilateral and five-sided cooperation were discussed, including a number of other issues related to the environment of the Caspian Sea.
