In Turkmenistan, the GDP growth rate was 6.3% in January-March 2025. This was reported during a government meeting held on April 5.
During the meeting, Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Hojamyrat Geldimyradov reported on macroeconomic indicators for the first quarter of this year. As the Vice-Chairman noted, in January-March, the country's GDP grew by 6.3%, including in industry the growth rate was 0.3%, in construction - 3.8%, in the transport and communications sector - 11.1%, in trade - 9.9%, in agriculture - 4%, in the service sector - 8.8%.
Compared to the same period in 2024, the overall volume of production increased by 9.6%, production indicators by industry are positive. Retail turnover is 12.3% higher than in the same period last year, and foreign trade turnover is 2.9%.
The revenue side of the State Budget for January-March was executed at 102%, and the expenditure side at 97.7%. The amount of wages in large and medium-sized enterprises of the country has increased by 11.2% since the beginning of the year compared to the same period of 2024. Wages, pensions, state benefits and student scholarships have been financed on time.
Compared to the same period last year, in the first three months of 2025, the volume of capital investments from all sources of financing increased by 17%, the Vice-Chairman said.
After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that measures should be taken to maintain sustainable GDP growth, as well as to further develop manufacturing industries. The head of state also addressed the Vice-Chairman with relevant instructions to improve the activities of the country's financial, economic and banking complex.
