Turkmenistan took part in the forum “Business Opportunities in Central Asia” held by India

 Turkmenistan was represented at the business forum “Business Opportunities in the Central Asian Region”, which was organized by the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of this country.

 The forum brought together heads of diplomatic missions of the Central Asian countries in India, heads of relevant departments of the ministries of foreign affairs, trade, small and medium-sized businesses, as well as representatives of local firms and companies.

 Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Delhi Shalar Geldynazarov took part in the forum from our country.  In his speech, the diplomat noted the positive cooperation between Turkmenistan and India in the implementation of such major international projects as the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline, the development of transport and logistics cooperation under the Ashgabat Agreement and the North-South International Transport Corridor  .

 The Ambassador drew the attention of Indian businessmen to the advantages of the investment climate in Turkmenistan, the processes of diversification of the country’s economy, national environmental policy, citing as an example the “smart” city of Arkadag, where advanced technologies have found their embodiment in creating an environmentally friendly and socially inclusive urban environment.

 Referring to the agreements reached at the highest level, Shalar Geldynazarov emphasized the great potential for mutually beneficial cooperation between Turkmenistan and India in such areas as the oil and gas industry, transport and communications, the agro-industrial complex, the chemical and textile industries, and IT technologies.  This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The situation in Afghanistan and further steps to intensify regional cooperation in order to maintain peace and stability in the region were discussed on Thursday at a meeting between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmud Qureshi, who is on a visit to Turkmenistan, the website of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan reports.

The TAPI gas pipeline will benefit the entire region, including $1 billion to Afghanistan for transit, – Pakistani Foreign Minister

The implementation of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline is beneficial for the entire region, and Afghanistan alone will receive $1 billion in transit fees and royalties, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmoud Qureishi said on Thursday, the Pakistani Daily Times reported.

In January, the volume of capital investments in Turkmenistan, utilized from all sources of financing, amounted to over 2 billion manats. This is 9.1% more than in January last year. This was stated by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at a government meeting last Friday.

SC «Turkmengas» and «Haldor Topsoe» are preparing to start production of ammonia and methanol from natural gas

The State concern «Turkmengas» is negotiating with the Danish company «Haldor Topsoe» on the construction in Turkmenistan of a small-sized gas chemical plant for the production of ammonia and methanol from natural gas. Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Shakhym Abdrakhmanov reported this to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at a government meeting held last Friday.
