Meeting of the Turkmen-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation was held in Ashgabat

The ninth meeting of the Turkmen-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan on June 4, TDH reports.

The meeting was attended by heads of relevant ministries and agencies of Turkmenistan, as well as a representative delegation led by Vice President of the Republic of Turkey Cevdet Yilmaz.

During the meeting, it was noted that intergovernmental cooperation is currently being successfully implemented in such areas as trade and economics, investment, energy, transport and logistics, and others. In this regard, the parties emphasized the important role of the joint Intergovernmental Commission in enhancing bilateral cooperation.

Priority areas of cooperation include construction, the building materials industry, energy, transport, the food industry, and agriculture.

Transport and logistics were identified as a key vector of bilateral relations. An exchange of views took place on the development of a modern transport infrastructure that ensures efficient freight transportation and connects the regions of Central Asia and Europe.

Energy was also among the important issues discussed. Participants emphasized that cooperation in these areas, along with strengthening the two countries' economies, will ensure energy and transport security throughout the Eurasian region.

Expressing Turkmenistan and Turkey's commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, the Commission members outlined specific steps to diversify their partnership in promising areas.

Following the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission, a corresponding Protocol was signed.

During bilateral meetings, the heads of relevant ministries and agencies discussed in detail the possibilities for continuing Turkmen-Turkish cooperation.
