This year, being held under the motto: “Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses,” and amid extensive preparations for the glorious 35th anniversary of sacred independence, impressive labor victories are being gained in the country’s oil and gas sector, as in other sectors of the national economy. A striking example of these successes was the recent receipt of a commercial flow of natural gas at production well No. A8 at Magtymguly gas field in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea, with a flow rate of over 1.3 million cubic meters and approximately 130 tons of gas condensate a day.
As a result of high-quality underground work at Magtymguly field, located in the Block 1 contract area, production well No. A8 was drilled to a depth of 4,981 meters. Initial well development is currently underway, and production volumes are expected to continue increasing. This further demonstrates that the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea, and Magtymguly field in particular, are extremely rich in hydrocarbon resources.
