The creative team of the Turkmengas Cultural Center won the cup at the international competition «Altyn Garagoz»

The folklore group «Galkynysh» of the Cultural Center of the State Concern «Turkmengas» took 2nd place at the 36th international folk dance competition «Altyn Garagöz», held in the city of Bursa, Republic of Turkey.

This prestigious competition was attended by 720 masters of dance art from 24 countries, which confirms the significance of the victory of the creative team representing Turkmenistan. According to the head of the folklore group «Galkynysh» Allaberdy Nazarov, participation in the creative competition «Altyn Garagoz» not only brought success, but was also very useful in terms of exchanging experience and developing connections with colleagues from other countries.

The group of 20 dancers (10 females and 10 males) and 2 soloists presented three performances at the competition, each lasting 3.5 and 8 minutes. The group skillfully demonstrated the uniqueness of Turkmen national dance and music, including a potpourri consisting of famous folk songs and melodies.

The members of the competition jury, as well as the audience, appreciated not only the skill and charisma of the Turkmen artists, but also the enchanting bright colorful costumes, decorated with skillful embroidery and colorful color combinations. The audience delightedly enjoyed the dynamic, flexible and light movements of the performers, accompanied by distinctive national costumes coupled with elegant jewelry.

For five days, the city of Bursa rejoiced in a rainbow palette of cultures, revealing the spiritual appearance of the peoples. The performances of the festival participants took place on several concert podiums and theater stages of the city, and the final round took place in the open air at the concert venue in the Kültürpark theater, which colorfully ended with a stunning concert.

Founded in 2007, the Galkynysh group is now widely known far beyond the borders of Turkmenistan. And this time the group was awarded a high award, at the same time, received a number of offers to take part in other similar events, in particular, a festival in Bulgaria, which will be held in September of this year.

The organizer of the international folk dance competition «Altyn Garagoz» is the Culture, Art and Tourism Foundation (BKSTV) under the Bursa City Administration. The event is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey and the International Cultural Organization of the Turkic Peoples (TURKSOY).

It should be noted that the 36th international folk dance competition «Altyn Garagoz» coincided with the 31st anniversary of the establishment of TURKSOY, the organization was founded on July 12, 1993.

It is worth noting that the creative team of Uzbekistan won 1st place. And the bronze award was awarded to the group representing Bulgaria. The special award of TURKSOY was received by the team of Hungary, and the honorary award went to the masters of dance art of Kazakhstan.

The winners of the competition were awarded diplomas, memorable gifts, as well as large cash prizes.
