In the first six months of this year, 12,700 tons of petroleum road bitumen were produced in the eastern region of our independent Motherland. Compared to the same period last year, when this figure was 12,400 tons, industrial growth in this sector amounted to 2.4 per cent. Thus, during the reporting period, total bitumen production increased by exactly 300 tons. This positive trend vividly demonstrates that production processes at the Seydi oil refinery of the Türkmennebit State Concern are stable and long-term.
It is worth noting that this large industrial enterprise, located in the town of Seydi in the Dyanev etrap, is rightfully considered one of the key centers of the oil refining industry in the eastern region of our country. The refinery itself is located on the left bank of the Amu Darya River, approximately 80 kilometers northwest of the city of Turkmenabat. Currently, at the refinery, three main process units are operating continuously. These include the ELOU-AVT-6 crude oil refining complex, designed for 6 million tons of crude oil a year, the LCh 35-11/500 catalytic reforming unit, capable of processing up to 500,000 tons of straight-run gasoline a year, and a specialized road bitumen production unit.
