On Thursday, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan Ejim Kiyoshi, who arrived in the country on a working visit at the head of the Japanese delegation, the website of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan reports.
During the meeting, a high assessment was given to the interaction of the two countries in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. The strategic, stable and long-term nature of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Japan was noted.
On the same day, Edjim Kiyoshi met with Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan, Chairman of the Turkmen part of the Turkmen-Japanese Committee for Economic Cooperation Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation.
It was emphasized that Japan is one of the main partners of Turkmenistan in the field of investments, there are active contacts with various Japanese companies. In this context, the importance of the Joint Committees for Economic Cooperation was especially noted.
During the meetings, the parties exchanged views on the prospects for further cooperation in the trade and economic sphere. Among the key areas of partnership are the industrial complex, including oil and gas chemistry, as well as energy, transport and communications sector, etc. Cooperation in the use of renewable energy sources is also promising, to which much attention is paid in Turkmenistan. In this aspect, there are good opportunities for interaction in such an urgent area as «green energy».
