The Turkmen delegation held a meeting on Tuesday with authorized representatives of the Afghan province of Herat. A separate topic of the talks was the issues of increasing the cargo passed through the Serhetabat-Turgundi checkpoint, as well as assistance in providing the necessary medical equipment, the website of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan reports.
The meeting was attended by representatives of banking and financial structures, medical organizations, other specialized and law enforcement agencies of the two countries.
The parties considered issues of interaction in the field of border, customs and phytosanitary supervision in border areas in accordance with sanitary and epidemiological requirements.
Representatives of the two neighboring countries agreed to increase the volume of cargo passing through the Serhetabat-Turgundi checkpoint, including through the provision of assistance in the form of installing special medical equipment for checks.
