Opportunities to strengthen cooperation in the fuel and energy sector, transport and other spheres are planned to be discussed in Moscow at the forthcoming meeting of the Turkmen-Russian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation.
According to TDH, at a government sitting on September 18, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Nokerguly Ataguliyev reported on preparations for the 14th meeting of the Turkmen-Russian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, scheduled to take place in Moscow.
The Deputy Prime Minister stated that the agenda includes considering opportunities to develop the bilateral trade and economic relations and to strengthen cooperation in areas such as the fuel and energy sector, transport and communications, industry, agriculture, the financial and banking sector, customs and digital technologies.
Furthermore, plans are in place to discuss ways to expand partnerships in education, science, health care, culture, sports, environment protection and the state cadastre, as well as at the level of business communities.
In this regard, a relevant proposal was submitted to the Head of State for consideration.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that the Russian Federation is one of Turkmenistan’s close partners with whom friendly relations have been established. Emphasizing the importance of thorough preparation for the forthcoming meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and approving the proposed composition of the Turkmen delegation to the Commission, the Head of State instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to carry out the necessary work.
