Preparations for the forthcoming Central Asia – Republic of Korea Summit, including the draft outcome document, were discussed at the third meeting of senior officials of the Cooperation Forum in this format, held in Astana.
At the meeting, the Turkmen side was represented by Deputy Foreign Minister Ahmet Gurbanov. In his speech, he reaffirmed our country’s commitment to further strengthening multilateral cooperation within the Forum, emphasizing the importance of developing mutually beneficial partnerships between the Central Asian states and the Republic of Korea.
As noted, holding the Central Asia – Republic of Korea Summit and Business Summit is crucial for further strengthening multifaceted cooperation between the states of the region and the Republic of Korea. This will facilitate the establishment of new direct contacts between representatives of business circles, expand opportunities for joint projects and identify promising areas of cooperation in such spheres as industry, energy, transport and logistics, digital technologies, agriculture and other areas of mutual interest.
That same day, Ahmet Gurbanov met with the Deputy Minister for Political Affairs of the Republic of Korea, Ms Chung Eui-hae. During the conversation, it was noted that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the further development of the Turkmen-Korean partnership based on the principles of friendship, mutual trust, respect and mutual understanding.
In this context, the special significance of high-level visits and contacts, occupying a priority place in the history of the bilateral relations, was emphasized.
