The President of Turkmenistan discussed with the new Ambassador of Iran the development of cooperation in priority areas

 Priority issues of bilateral relations were discussed at a meeting on Monday between President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Turkmenistan Ali Mojtaba Ruzbekhani, who presented his credentials to the head of state, TDH reports.

 During the meeting, which was held in a businesslike, constructive manner, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Ambassador of Iran discussed priority issues of bilateral relations.  Particular attention was paid to interaction within authoritative international organizations, primarily the UN.

 Emphasizing the positive dynamics of building relationships in priority areas, the interlocutors confirmed their readiness to deepen ties in the fuel and energy, transport and communications sectors, construction and agriculture.

 In this regard, the special importance of the intergovernmental Turkmen-Iranian commission on economic cooperation was noted.

 During the conversation, it was also stated that Iran remains one of Turkmenistan’s significant partners in the region.  In this regard, it was noted that the progressive pace of economic interstate interaction corresponds to the further expansion of cooperation on the principles of equality and mutual benefit in the trade and economic field.
