The Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, proposed to develop a Bilateral Energy Cooperation Plan at a meeting last Friday with the Deputy Federal Chancellor, Federal Minister of Economics and Climate Protection of Germany Robert Habeck, TDH reports.

As part of the discussion of the main directions of interstate partnership, energy was named among the key vectors.

As noted, this area opens up opportunities for German companies to participate in projects for the modernization of existing and construction of new facilities in the oil and gas and gas chemical complexes of Turkmenistan, for the development of oil and gas resources on the Caspian shelf, as well as the construction of the Trans-Caspian gas pipeline.

Particular emphasis is placed on the great opportunities available for joint efforts in the field of hydrogen energy and reducing methane emissions.

In this context, Turkmenistan’s readiness for full cooperation in these areas was confirmed and a proposal was made to develop a Bilateral Energy Cooperation Plan with the involvement of government agencies and large companies in its implementation, the news agency notes.
