Promising areas of interaction in trade, economic, transport and communication, energy and humanitarian and cultural spheres were discussed at the meeting of the Chairman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova with the delegation of the European Parliament. This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The Delegation of the European Parliament for Central Asia and Mongolia, headed by Tomash Zdekhovsky, has been in Turkmenistan on a working visit on June 19. During the meeting, the expediency of establishing the exchange of technological and information resources was also emphasized. Particular attention was paid to digitalization issues. 

The subject of the interested discussion was also the intensification of inter-parliamentary cooperation. During the meeting, it was stated that Turkmenistan, building a foreign policy under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the principles of positive neutrality, achieves new success every day and strengthens its position in the international arena. 

As noted, interaction with the European Parliament is effectively developing within the framework of existing specialized projects and programs, in particular, the Joint Committee of the European Union-Turkmenistan, inter-parliamentary dialogue, dialogue on human rights, advisory meetings between foreign ministries and specific partnership issues. 

Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of work on the legislative provision of the agreements reached recently between Turkmenistan and the EU. 

The interlocutors spoke in favor of expanding the legal framework, exchange of experience, as well as regular holding of inter-parliamentary meetings, consultations to activate productive connections, bring them to a qualitatively new level.
